British Canoeing White Water Award

The White Water Award (formerly 3 star) is designed to develop your skill, judgment and decision making on rivers up to grade 2. Previous paddling experience is essential and you should be competent at paddling on sheltered water prior to attending this course.

On this course we will help you to acquire the skills to proactively drive your boat in the dynamic white water environment, using the features confidently to move around the river. We will also consider equipment and preparation, and safety and rescue on the river. Our White Water Award courses usually take place over 2 days on rivers in the southwest (around Dartmoor or Exmoor).
