Introduction to white water
Once you have mastered the basics on flat water you may be wanting to try your hand at paddling white water. This course is designed to make that introduction as you are led by a qualified BC coach on a journey down a stretch of the river Dart or Barle.
During the course you will look at the equipment you may need for white water paddling, learn how to handle your boat on moving water, and be introduced to some basic rescue techniques. We do our best to tailor the course to your needs, and there will be plenty of time to practise and gain full confidence in all the newly taught skills.
What to bring:
Your normal paddling gear and some lunch. If you need to hire a boat or paddling equipment this can be arranged for a minimal sum. You will need dry clothing for afterwards and appropriate paddling clothing for the season.
We will supply:
All safety equipment and some expert friendly coaching! If you do not already possess your own paddling gear then we can supply you with a kayak, buoyancy aid, helmet, wetsuit and cag.
